Portfolio Update July 2026
A review of the stock market and my portfolio moves - Month 23
July is always the busiest month of the summer for us and it was no different this year. My parents visited us and we went to a Blue Jays game to kick off the month. Part way through we traveled back to my hometown for a week. This is always kicked off by a boys golf weekend and this year there were 20 of us playing in a Ryder Cup style tournament. While it was the same format as last year my team was crushed 15-10 (much different from last year).
Major Indices VS My RRSP
I might as well leave the same comment as last month all in all preety quiet with the Nasdaq giving a bit back, TSX gained a bit and the rest were relatively flat. VDY continues to keep on crushing!

My Moves
As mentioned in previouss updates I have scaled back deploying new cash in my portfolios. The two exceptions are:
- RESP small contributions each month to maximize the grant ($500) requiring ($2500) contributions in the year.
- Work RRSP for both the match and pre-tax deductions.aside from my work RRSP, RESP and reinvesting dividends/
This is in prepartion for us purchasing a new primarty residence at some point in the near future. I will also be simplifying the portfolio and derisking a bit. The plan is to liquidate as little as possible but if the right deal comes along its better to be ready.
This month I liquidated another position for redistribution… any guesses?

AMD and GOOG are still being actively monitored for more trimming or exiting, I have been holding both since end of February 2025. CRM, META and SHOP are holds until they go for another run as I believe SAAS should within the next year. CRM and META are new buys for me this year and SHOP I first bought in April of 2022 all the way down in 2023 and haven’t bought any since.

Wrap Up
July was an incredible month filled with fun summer memories, family visits, and an exciting golf trip back home! While the broader markets remained relatively quiet, our portfolios continued to perform wonderfully with standout growth from VDY and some strategic portfolio housekeeping. We are thrilled to be positioning ourselves for an upcoming home purchase while keeping our financial momentum strong and steady!
